Choosing a photograph
Look for a clear view of your pet's face, with the eyes and nose in focus and the ears included. Natural light helps. Send the original image where possible, without beauty filters or heavy sharpening. The background does not need to be perfect.

Can I use a photograph of my dog or cat?
Yes. Choose a clear photograph of your dog or cat, then upload it with your order. If you are unsure whether your photograph is suitable, get in touch before ordering.
Will the engraving look exactly like a colour photograph?
The portrait is prepared as engraving artwork, using lines and contrast instead of the photograph's full range of colours. The level of detail depends on the source image and the size and surface of the chosen jewellery. Barney's artwork and necklace above show one finished example.
Can I add a pet's name or a short message?
Many designs have options for additional wording, and some allow engraving on the reverse. Check the options on your chosen product; the space available varies between pieces.
Can I order a pet memorial keepsake?
Yes. A portrait can be a personal way to remember a much-loved pet, as Claire's necklace remembers Barney. If you have only an older or less clear photograph, contact us to discuss it before ordering.
How long will my jewellery take?
Please allow up to two weeks for delivery of made-to-order personalised jewellery. If you have a particular date in mind, contact us before placing your order. You can also read our shipping information.
