Each photograph needs individual preparation before it becomes an engraving. The finishing and assembly matter too.

A simple place to start

Photographing your pet’s nose

You do not need an ink print or an impression kit for this service. A clear photograph gives us a starting point.

  1. Choose soft light Try taking the photograph near a window or outside in gentle daylight, while your pet is comfortable and settled.
  2. Keep the nose in focus Include the whole nose and both nostrils. Check that the surface detail is clear, rather than just the surrounding fur.
  3. Upload your photograph with your order Choose your piece and upload the clearest original file you have when ordering. Avoid filters so the nose detail remains clear.

Which pieces can have a nose print engraving?

You can choose any piece in our personalised jewellery and keepsake range. The necklace and keyring pictured here are examples. We prepare the nose artwork for the size and shape of your chosen piece. If you have something particular in mind, ask us about it and we will help you choose.

Can you engrave my cat’s nose print?

Yes. We can prepare an engraving from a clear photograph of your cat’s nose, just as we do for dogs. Choose your piece from our personalised range and upload your photograph with your order. The whole nose should be visible, with the surface detail in focus.

Do I need to take an ink nose print?

No. For the photo based service shown here, we prepare the engraving from a photograph of your pet’s nose. You do not need an ink pad or an impression kit.

Can you work from an existing photograph?

An existing photograph may be suitable when the nose is clear enough. This can be especially helpful when a pet has passed away and a new photograph is not possible. Choose the clearest original image you have and upload it with your order. The detail available in the photograph will influence the finished engraving.

Can I choose nose print jewellery in memory of my pet?

Yes. Your chosen jewellery or keepsake can be a personal way to remember a much loved dog or cat. If you are choosing pet memorial jewellery and only have older photographs, look for an image with a clear view of the nose. Upload your chosen photograph with your order.

Can the same nose be used on more than one keepsake?

Yes. The necklace and keyring on this page were made from the same nose photograph. Choose the pieces you would like and let us know that they should use the same image.

Can I add a name or a short message?

Many pieces offer optional names or messages. The available space and personalisation choices vary, so check the options on your chosen product.
