The smallest disc in our stainless steel range is designed for a quiet personal detail. A little heart drawn by a child, a few handwritten characters or a familiar image detail can make this silver coloured necklace meaningful without needing a large pendant.
At just 9mm across, this disc has very limited engraving space. Choose a simple detail rather than a full scene or long message. The 13mm disc is the next size up if you need more room; larger discs are better for detailed portraits.
Ideas for your personal engraving
- Photos: Choose one distinctive detail from a clear photo. A complete scene or several faces will become too small on a 9mm disc; a larger pendant is a better option for those images.
- Handwriting: A handwritten initial, a few characters or a tiny mark from a note can carry personal meaning. Send the original writing as an image and keep the selection very short.
- Drawings: Simple shapes are the strongest choice here: a little drawn heart or one bold feature from a child’s sketch. Fine shading and busy artwork will lose detail at this scale.
- Pet portraits: A selected facial detail may be suitable from a sharp close-up photograph. For a recognisable full portrait with more features visible, choose one of the larger discs.
- Nose prints: A small section of the pattern can be chosen from a clear nose photograph or print. The tiny engraving area limits how much texture can be shown.
- Paw prints: A clear paw outline can provide a simple design. Use an image where the pad shapes are distinct, allowing for them to become much smaller on the finished disc.
- Handprints and footprints: A simple handprint or footprint silhouette is another possibility. It needs to be reduced substantially, so the overall shape matters more than fine lines within the print.
